"First impressions, large secure car park. Very welcoming and lovely reception area. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We only had a snack in the bar/restaurant, but both service and quality were excellent and reasonably priced. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable, again made even better by the staff. The chef accommodated my requests (e.g. they didn't have chilli oil, so he made me one with olive oil and chilli's - thank you for that!). The only negative was...

"Historical building which has been heavily invested in to upgrade. Bathroom lovely, lift slow but steady. We loved the history behind the hotel, we did not love the parking which was VERY tight, nor the fire alarm blaring at 11pm, or the amorous couple in the room beside us. We heard every episode! Beds comfortable as were the pillows. Rooms were serviced daily. Meals were available. I feel an exhaust fan to the bathroom would be a terrific improvement "

"This was our first visit to Shrewsbury with the intention to do some Christmas shopping. We had some issues with parking due to the road closures but we parked at the station which was easy and only a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Amazing service at check in, so friendly and efficient. Breakfast was nice but unfortunately we were made to feel as though we didn't belong there which has now put us off staying at the hotel again. "
