The staff were very friendly and helpful. The fittings and decor are a bit dated but the bed was really comfortable and the linen and towels were lovely. I would suggest getting a room nearer the back of the hotel, we were on the front and it was rather noisy from the pub next door. Although the parking may seem a little complicated it's good value for being in the town and we extended the next morning at a better rate than if we had moved it. Really good location to explore the town and for walking the local area
Very friendly, but professional members of staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. We stayed in the Mansion House and we loved the history of the older part of the hotel. Wonky walls and sloping floors added to the unique experience. Would love to stay again. A huge thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome. Merry Christmas 🎄
The building has great character that you do not find in modern hotels. Reception staff excellent in particular the gentleman who checked me in on Tuesday 3rd December. One star deducted for staff and service as my room has not been serviced by my return at 3 p.m. on Thursday 5th December.
All trains cancelled the day i was supposed to travel to Shrewsbury. Hotel was no help at all. I booked with expedia, and they tried to get a refund they hung up on tham.
Very angry it was not my fault th weather was so bad im £107.00 down not happy at all
Lovely central place to stay very comfortable with the most amazing friendly and helpful staff in all areas
We will be returning
Thank you to all the staff especially reception and the breakfast waiters they couldn't do enough for us
Friendly helpful staff, delicious breakfast, finding the carpark was rather difficult with not knowing the area ,shame the car park couldnt bd closer also
Lovely older property, very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with a variety of choices. The location of the property is very convenient for local attractions, restaurants and shops. It is also within walkable distance of the railway station. I would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful old building in a fabulous area with lots of Tudor buildings. Lovely bedroom and excellent service.

We stayed at the Prince Rupert for six nights. The rooms are nice if a bit tired. However, the newly refurbished bathrooms have a tap and sink arrangement that doesn't work at all making even simple hand washing annoyingly awkward. The water pressure in the shower is poor too. The breakfast is good, and the staff could not be nicer or more helpful and the hotel's location is beautiful and handy for everything in Shrewsbury. We would return, but sort the sink and taps, please.

Lovely staff, good public areas, breakfast room etc
My room was small with nowhere to open a case...
Book directly, Expedia took an enormous commission
Fabulous restaurant Room was ok. Some areas looking like needing some attention but expect they are working their way through Communal areas very tidy and fresh. Great location. I would advise parking on outside edge of town as. Nightmare one way system Only 20 mins to walk across the town.
