"It was my fourth time staying at Casa Jum. When driving from New York with the night flight, we land at 2 AM, and spending the night in Santiago is most convenient. The hostel staff will communicate with you in advance about your arrival time, so the night guard was aware. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, there is hot water and AC in all rooms. "Not much to do around the area and there are rumors of it being in a not so good area of Santiago. I would challenge that claim since I walled all over the place even at dark without feeling any kind of threat. There is a very excellent Chinese restaurant next door which I highly recommend. As a Dominican raised abroad I chose this hotel for its historical value. As a tourist you'll be charmed by the decor and the charming staff. My breakfast was cold two days in a row and the stay was over...
