"Driving up to the property on the mountain roads may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I absolutely loved it. Once there the staff was welcoming, property, unique, and beautiful, and the things to do in and around the property are very worthwhile."

"the overall place and our room were under our expectations for this type of accommodation and value for the money, after having travelled for four months in south and central America. We were also surprised to be asked to move to the hotel next door for our second night and when we asked for the reason, we receive mixed messages. Not a overall pleasant experience "

"Overall a great place to stay! The showers in the room I stayed at were kind of weird and looked broken but for the price, I will take it any day. They have wonderful service and a guitar which I was able to play while I was not doing anything. I would totally recommend it. "

"Cattleya was better than we expected! Our group was exploring Monteverde/Santa Elena for 2 days, and we were provided with a very clean, large private room (including our own mini kitchen and full fridge, in addition to the communal kitchen). The reception area is separate (about 3 min drive) from the rooms, but not inconvenient. There are lots of restaurants nearby. We actually got food from a nearby grocery store and cooked in our room. "Great place to stay! Staff very knowledgeable of the area and willing to help. My room was very nice. Night winds were high so it was a bit loud. Nothing the hotel can change, just part of the area. Just something to be aware of in the area."

"Unit is very clean, in good, newer condition. Conveniently located but hard to find as it lacks prominent signage to indicate you're at the right place; and has no "front desk" to check in at when you arrive which is problematic as its just a house in the midst of many others. There is a bar/club nearby that goes til 2:30AM each night. Pack ear plugs. The A/C worked well. Good base of operations for visiting the stites. "

"Great hostel situated in a nice neighbourhood, 5 minutes walk from the centre including the supermarkets and bus terminal (the centre is frankly not as pleasant as the suburbs). Rooms have secure key codes, and lockers are situated in the communal kitchen which is large, clean and well equipped. Everything was good. Would recommend."

"Pros: - The place is well manicured and has a nice pool. - The location is close to town but still quiet Cons: - I was lied to. Repeatedly. The cook in the kitchen lied and told me he was the manager. The girl at the check in counter lied and told me that rooms were still being cleaned, even after I saw the cleaning crew leave. - The check in counter girl was incredibly rude. - The cook in the kitchen tried to lecture me any time I had a problem with something. "Suwa Villa Arenal is one of the best places at which I have stayed! We had four guests and stayed for four nights in mid-March. Beautiful rooms with an outdoor patio and chairs, and A/C. Very clean and fully stocked communal kitchen, with a super cute and lush lounge area on the side. There are laundry machines available to use, with 2 free detergent pods provided. "Second time staying at this amazing hotel! The staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s a quick walk to town, restaurants, markets, laundry, and bakery. For tours you can easily park your car by your villa or the front desk can help you arrange transport and recommend activities. "This place is so beautiful! All the rainforest jungle landscaping is phenomenal. The location is perfect in the middle of all activities and the view of the volcano is the best. We had both a sunny day, cloudy and rainy day and all were great there. The hot springs are well shaded from sun and rain. The buffet breakfast is great and my kids loved the nachos, burgers and wood-Fire pizza at the bar. Their Asian salad was amazing as well! I was happy with the prices being very reasonable - $10-$12 meals. My daughter and I even shared a pizza a couple times so that was a $6 meal for us each. I was surprised it didn’t feel crowded, even during spring break. "

"What a GEM of a hotel! Even better than the pictures. The grounds are so beautiful with lots of flowering plants. We saw a Toucan and 3 Sloths! The Staff was very helpful with spotting the Sloths plus Coffee tour and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was fantastic! We only had two nights here but wished we had a longer stay. Incredible value. My favorite part was sitting outside the room with my binoculars looking at a large Sloth that stayed in the same spot our whole stay! Also nice to be able to walk everywhere. Highlight of our Costa Rica adventure. "
