"Great location and very modern. I like a traditional feel more than the modern but it had everything one needed. However, there was less than 1 role of toilet paper between both bathrooms combined and no soap or shampoo, napkins, paper towels, dish brushes or clothes wash so come prepared. Also, the garbage outside was filled to overflowing before we arrived and we were unable to clean up our kitchen. Apparently, per the neighbor, this is an ongoing problem. The beds were a little uncomfortable....

"This private and bijou rental is an absolute gem! In lovely rural setting, it is very cosy and enormous care has clearly been taken to think through every need a guest might have. "Me and my 5 friends had a lovely time away. There were stunning views and the house was large and comfortable. Fun board games and a lovely hot tub. We all agreed that the main thing that let it down for us was cleanliness. We had to hoover and clean when we got there - there was a lot of dog hair (we didn't bring a dog). "We booked Fairnilee House for our big family Christmas. The house surpassed all our expectations and was just amazing. Luxurious furnishings, comfortable beds, fantastic showers and despite its size, extremely warm and felt just like home. The house is extremely well equipped, with an extensive selection of crockery and glassware which made for some beautiful suppers in the grand dining room. "Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh."
