"A lovely comfortable room, with amazing views. It can be a little noisy if you're a light sleeper. Convenient location in the middle of Ambleside, close to Windermere. Bar is very nice with a decent range of drinks. I'd happily stay here again. "

"Lovely welcome from the staff who were very informative about everything from parking to meals to how to contact them. Parking is very limited however public parking is available nearby. Room was comfortable and warm. Had all the things needed (tea, coffee, basic toiletries, towels etc). Having a safe in the room was a nice touch. The only little things are there is no mirror next to the table to do hair / make up as it’s across the room and the toilet door constantly hits the bathroom...

"Fantastic location, convenient base for short Ullswater stay. Staff mostly great and welcoming, rooms very clean, corridors and paintwork showing wear and many scuffs. Room tea coffee facilities excellent, evening meal was very average and probably over priced. Breakfast, service and overall environment lovely and excellent service. Set us up well for the day and one of the nicest breakfasts I've had. Would definitely consider a return stay when in Ullswater. "

"1 night stay on a business trip. Lovely country pub with rooms. Warm and friendly welcome from the team. Room was well designed, all the facilities needed, spotlessly clean. Team were flexible with the breakfast arrangements to fit around my timings. I will certainly return."

"We had a delightful time at the Troutbrook Inn. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, plus they were certainly dog friendly. As this was my first time travelling with my dogs this was so reassuring. Would certainly book again if making a return visit to the area. "

"The executive suite at The Inn was absolutely gorgeous, probably the nicest room we have ever stayed in, with an amazing view! However, we didn't sleep great because the bed was particularly uncomfortable, which is a shame because everything else was perfect!"

"What a fabulous place and just a couple of miles out of Windermere. The Inn has a great atmosphere and the speciality ales are just what you need after along day of hiking. The rooms are great, superclean and very comfortable. To top it all, the cooked breakfasts in the morning were both hearty and delicious. Thr staff were also super helpful too. This was the first time we have stayed here but will definitely come again. Would highly recommend, especially perfect for dog owners. "

"Beautiful views… The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The host Janet was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and completely respected our privacy. Awesome place to stay, with amazing walks just outside the door. We loved the waterfall which was a very short walk away… The track leading to the accommodation is covered in potholes which is the only downside. The views and the walks outweigh this minor inconvenience. We highly recommend…"

"Hotel and Room was excellent and clean, simple easy instructions to follow. Try to avoid ground floor rooms as you can hear everything that goes on above. Everything! Keeping us up till 1am. Not to impressed. "

"On arriving at hotel looked at little run down But met by a great staff easy booking in and organising car park Rooms pleasently surprising Room double bed ,dressing table TV coffee tea facilities Bathroom small but adequate...provides towels ,shower gel Would definitely stay again Central to everything "

"Service was excellent. Staff on reception was beyond helpful, food was astonishing having breakfast, afternoon tea and an evening meal in the hotel restaurant and all the food was the highest quality with fantastic hosts and waiting staff. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beautiful views from the room, the lounge, the restaurant and the outdoor seating areas overlooking the lake. Overall a breathtaking area with the hotel complimenting the area incredibly well. Spa treatments to top off the weekend away. Couldn’t recommend enough. "

"Very helpful staff on reception. Great evening meal. Lovely choice and fresh & hot. Excellent service too… Our room overlooked the lake and was fabulous… Whilst the hotel is a little tired the staff were not at all. They were great. A great place for walking around the lake . "
