"Erika's cottage was clean, well equipped and in a quiet location. The view of Blencathra from the back of the cottage is beautiful and we loved seeing the red squirrels who were daily visitors. We didn't meet our hosts so can't comment on them but the emails via VRBO were adequate and we found our way in and around easily. The extra information about the area was very welcome. "The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too. Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property."

"As others have noted, the actual barn is both small, and definitely no longer a barn!It is beautifully finished, perfect for a couple. "Beautiful views… The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The host Janet was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and completely respected our privacy. Awesome place to stay, with amazing walks just outside the door. We loved the waterfall which was a very short walk away… The track leading to the accommodation is covered in potholes which is the only downside. The views and the walks outweigh this minor inconvenience. We highly recommend…"
