"Unfortunately Hotels dot com double booked the room so my "guaranteed" booking was in fact not guaranteed and I had no bed for the night!! H.C knew about the lack of availability 2 days before I was told (1 hour before check in). So, with no time to find a alternative my weekend was ruined. I must stress this has nothing to do with the hotel, I just suggest you use a different company to book. "

"Our stay in Bridgend at the Cartref house was spectacular. We are three women in our 60/70's visiting Wales using public transportation. The Cartref house is close to the bus and train stations so we were able to travel all over south Wales. We were so happy at the end of the day when we got back to our lovely Bridgend home. "What a beautiful place to stay . The only room above a fully renovated pub. Both the room and the pub are beautifully done. It's a large spacious room . The classic cast iron slipper foot tub in the middle of the room was used everyday. Great way to wind down. A convenience store is across the street so is parking . Great food downstairs in the pub and the staff couldn't have been nicer. If Southerndown is on your radar . This is the spot!"
