"Great hotel. Staff are friendly. Northern lights wake-up call was a nice touch. Food at the restaurant is expensive but the meals are really good. Definitely remote and need to have activities planned and some backup snacks, alcohol and necessities if you don’t want to pay for everything. But great relaxing stay. The weather/wind in Iceland was the worst it has been in 10 years, and we briefly lost power. Our host brought us a generator, coffee, pastries, and kept us updated every step. "We had a wonderful stay here. We enjoyed the full kitchen and the hot tub. Our only complaint was the directions were not clear and we ended up at the neighbour's house. We found the rental afterwards, but had no code for the property in advance. The directions said to go to the main house for the code. We had no idea where the main house was, we couldn't see any other homes. One of us ran to 3 people on horseback riding by, who conveniently had the code. We would just suggest sending the code...
