"Extraordinarily comfortable and well appointed without ostentatious or cloying luxury. Staff members were genuine, professional, on the ball and helpful. Food was delicious. Outstanding attention to detail. Had a great bike ride around the eastern Lake District and Westmorland Dales. Would like to stay there again. Totally sound northern stuff. "

"It was amazingly spacious including the roomy bathroom. There was a fridge, lovely teas, and a safe, which were much appreciated. It was centrally located and very close to Durham University, making our visit with our daughter very convenient."

"After a late arrival we were informed that the pool, sauna, steam room and gym were all still open which was a nice welcome after a long drive. We followed this by a drink in the bar area, service was noticeably stretched this particular evening due to a wedding party (possibly two), and an 80th birthday celebration meaning tables were not getting cleared and bar service was slow. However, the hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and rooms very nice, although the shower in our room, 411, requires attention. Overall, we’re very much enjoyed our stay and would come again. "

"Runa farm was a brilliant place to stay and i only wish i had more time there. the only thing i would say needed changing in my room would be to get a proper kingsize mattress or a topper so you can feel the zip and one of the chairs sort of blocks access to the shower "
