"Rooms were very clean and adequate. Rooms warm during a cold January stay. Cooked breakfast was great. Hostess Caroline was a delight. Flat 10 minute walk to city gate (see photo). So no need to park closer unless you have a walking disability. Very desirable location. The only thing that would have made it better was to let customers know in advance that parking is £12.50 @ night. No nearby free parking in sight. Don’t hesitate to stay here. "

"There was nothing to dislike about the Apple House. It was welcoming and friendly, very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. If I need to stay in a York hotel again, I would choose the Apple House."

"Room was lovely and very clean. Although bedroom was relatively small, had a nice sized bathroom with a big shower. Only suggestion would to check the radiator in bathroom works as we couldn't get it to turn on despite other radiators working, making the bathroom quite cold!"
