"We stayed for 3 nights for a Christmas shopping trip, the hotel is in a perfect location very close to York Minster and with lovely bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We were met with a very warm welcome, our room was small but had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend this lovely boutique Guest House"

"A surprisingly large large hotel renovated from a lovely Edwardian (or maybe Victorian) redbrick house. The room was cozy enough, though perhaps a new mattress would be a sound investment. I was in an economy single room. It was suitable for work I was doing, as well as walkable to the city centre. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. "

"Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. "Very friendly helpful staff and instructions before arrival and during my stay. Clean and tidy room. Walls not sound proof so spent the night listening to a neighbour snoring unfortunately but very comfortable bed. Carpet was vacuumed but could do with a shampoo. Excellent breakfast. Tea and coffee making facilities and nice toiletries. Thank you. "

"Wow what a beautiful place. Fabulous room, huge comftable bed with modern bathroom and very refreshing power shower.The room was well stocked with lively teas, coffees and biscuits, no scrimping ! Following morning we had a really beautiful breakfast in a gorgeous breakfast room from a lovely friendly team. It was all topped off with a fall overnight of snow, so we woke up to a stunning winter wonderland. Cant recommend highly enough we will definitely be back and definitely to the Staverley...

"The hotel room was large and well furnished, though the bed was slightly uncomfortable and I think the mattress had seen better days. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and catered pretty well for our vegan diet, though the vegan milk options were somewhat limited. The hotel is ideally placed for access to Knaresborough town centre and had ample private parking. "

"The studio room we stayed in was lovely and cosy. Everything felt very high-end from the decor to the coffee machine. There wasn’t one thing I’d change. The free parking at the back of the building was an added bonus too. It was the perfect base to explore Harrogate Centre, 5 minute walk and you’re in the centre. Totally recommend this place and very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. "

"Been here 3/4 times, and looking forward to next stay. Food is really good. Service is excellent. Only issue this time was someone clearly had too much to drink in the village and people were shouting in the early hours of the morning. This woke me and i struggled to get back to sleep, but nothing to do with the inn."

"Very cozy for a solo traveller. I like it when BnB's cater for them in that the room was no bigger than it needed to be and bathroom had shower/bath. The breakfasts were excellent. Fresh fruit buffet with a big selection of berries, cereals and some ham and cheese. As well as this they offer fresh cooked full English and other things you would get at a restaurant. "Very few properties are perfect and this property had a few issues, but these pale in comparison to the convenience, location, professionalism, and cleanliness. The staff more were truly amazing and they themselves deserve five stars. They were accommodating, considerate, professional, efficient, kind, and truly represented the very best of York. I would be inclined to make these apartments my go to place for any future visits to York."

"We absolutely love this place been a few times now and every time is spot on perfect (wish we had some sugar and tea bags and milk for the room but will remember next time) brilliant as a dog friendly place, our pup loved it! "Room was clean and comfortable. Had street view at front of hotel. Not able to open windows but not a major issue. Room had a large shower, and was very clean. Tea & coffee facilities were available and TV with plenty of channels. Overall very basic room but just what we needed. "

The Milner York formerly the Principal York

"Wonderful experience staying at the Milner in York. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the hotel is beautiful and exudes a calm and tranquil vibe. The superior twin room was spotless and very comfortable. Very large modern and bright bathroom and wide access rainfall shower. The lighting in the room was a bit dim for me but may suit others. Lovely pool which wasn’t busy. Good buffet breakfast which was leisurely and offered a wide variety of options. We requested a late checkout and as it was my birthday and courtesy of the hotel, I received a complimentary plate of delicious mini cakes which added to the special magic of this wonderful hotel. Staff go the extra mile and are happy to cater for any request. Ideally placed for walking around the stunning historic sites of York and jumping on the train home! Definitely recommended. "

"Enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay at the Mercure Fairfield Manor Hotel. Warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Very straightforward check-in and then to our room which was spacious and everything to our liking. We ate evening dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Breakfast in the a.m was also excellent ... So many choices to suit everyones tastes. Staff were very professional and friendly. We would definitely visit again if staying over in York. Ideally placed geographically being only about a 12 min drive to York city parking near the Minster. We rated our vist 5 out of 5 stars. "
