"We loved this little spot! It was a great place to land after our flight. Very close to downtown Alajuela, which meant that we could walk out our door in the morning and find a nice cafe and good food at the Central Market. Our only challenge was that the traffic was quite loud overnight; my partner had a hard time sleeping, even with the provided earplugs. I recommend this location for sure for heavy sleepers."

"Cabañas del Rio was a wonderful place to stay in La Fortuna. We stayed in the family unit with three queen beds and a kitchen. It worked out great for our family of 6. "Large, clean, and has a wonderful patio (with now mature landscaping and covered patio unlike online photo). Hosts are on-site and very helpful and responsive, with lots of info and recommendations for local resources. We enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies, and other wildlife while relaxing on the patio. Close to San Ramon, a beautiful little city, and perfect weather. "Cute place on a quiet street that was an easy walk to downtown restaurants and a short drive to hot springs, waterfall, volcano national park and the biggest lake in the country. So many fun adventures in this area!"

"Spacious accommodations and friendly host. Host was responsive and very helpful. Beautiful views but in the Lake Arenal area, which is quite secluded. There is one small, delicious restaurant 400 meters away, but not walkable. LaFortuna is approximately an hour drive, must have a car if staying here. It was a very pleasant stay, but not in the location listed."
