"Situated on large grounds the property is undergoing much needed renovation. The personal is very nice and they are doing their best to communicate and help. There are no surroundings. Need a taxi to anywhere. The pool needs to be cleaned. The breakfast was acceptable, dinner somehow limited in options. We found it a bit overpriced for the conditions "

"We enjoyed our time at Sol Cataratas and wish we had stayed longer. The jungle setting provided atmosphere and we found the restaurant on site provided good meals and enjoyed our interaction with the serving staff (despite our lack of Spanish). The hotel was a base for us and we were picked up and dropped off on the tours we did though a walk into town isn't excessive and neither were taxi's if required. "I had to double check what I was paying when I checked in here. It felt like I was staying in luxury that I normally cannot afford, yet this was so very affordable! The rooms are clean, we were in a studio and it was very large. The bathroom was very impressive and the patio in the back was large and comfortable. The pool area is great with a great bartending staff. The restaurant serves delicious food and the breakfast was better than I’m used to in a hotel. I would absolutely stay here again. "

"Very good experience. Not everyone at the restaurant speaking English slightly delayed the service, but you can scan code the menu and order from there. Very clean, very attentive to details. The pools were great. Highly recommended overall "

"This is a very nice Mercure Hotel. It is a 15 minute ride to town; however, the taxi ride cost is only approximately $6 US dollars. The breakfast cost is $25 USD; however, it is excellent and plentiful. The service at the hotel, from the reception desk to housekeeping is excellent. Internet reception is very good. We did not use the pool nor the spa, so I can’t comment. "

"The a/c was leaking onto this light fixture, the room was nice loved the balcony looking into the lush vegetation. The restaurant was fantastic, breakfast was another story, you couldn’t serve yourself (buffet style) the cereal etc side you could but not the fruits cheese or ham side. The only eggs served are scrambled. The hostess the first day was not very friendly but day 2 and 3 this younger much friendlier hostess took great care of us!! "
