All the staff were great, we found them all very helpful and they are an absolute asset to the Hotel (especially in this day and age when hospitality staff are hard to find) I used the spa and had an amazing back massage. "One of the showers was a little too hot for some of our tastes. The double bed was very hard and difficult to sleep, but it was also very warm whilst we were there. The owners were really communicative before our stay and when we got there. They left us some bread, milk and essentials which was really appreciated. "Lovely house, room was a good size, comfortable bed, decent linen. Good onsuite shower. Breakfast preordered and delivered to room as still have Covid restriction in place. Parking available but a bit tight getting in and out if other cars there. Hosts friendly and gave us a warm welcome. Definitely better than Doubletree Hotel down the road and half the price. "

G&S Canal and former Cadbury's factory. Cadbury's opened a factory adjacent to the Gloucester & Sharpness canal near Fretherne Bridge in 1916. The factory produced chocolate crumb from ground cocoa beans, sugar, and milk from local farms before being transported to the Bournville factory in Birmingham by narrowboat. The silo in the centre of the picture was added later to provide additional storage. The factory is now occupied by several businesses including Shipton Mill.
