"This is the nicest hotel Iā€™ve ever stayed in. Understated and tasteful elegance. Fantastic rooms with amazing balconies, world class beach, impeccable service, excellent grounds, fine dining at Manta, but also a beachfront casual bar/restaurant, and Copper Bar in between and our favorite. They have an Asian Art Collection worthy of a museum. This was out of our usual price range, a big splurge, and worth every penny. We are already trying to figure out how to swing it to go back next winter. "

"I have stayed in the Waikoloa Beach area for years, but first time at The Shores. I was very pleased with the unit which had obviously been updated and was nicely decorated. It was appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay and then some. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds. Pool is lovely. "Average condominium, tastefully decorated but old furniture. Hand towels in guest bath looked like they were 20 years old. Well equipped kitchen. Washing machine smelled of mold so bad we couldn't use it. There is no air-conditioning in the second bedroom and they provide a portable fan instead. August in Hawaii that was not acceptable. Floors had not been swept or cleaned when we arrived, there was a lot of hair on the bathroom floor."
