"The three bedroom Red Ohana house was perfect for our group of three adult couples. The house is maintained in excellent condition and was open and available for the easiest check-in we have ever experienced! The house was spacious, for our group of six adults and the kitchen was fully equipped for making everything from breakfast coffee ( three different coffee pots to make regular drip coffee, K cup brewed coffee or French press coffee ) to a full evening meal if desired. "

"What a wonderful property! We enjoyed staying at Red Ohana very much. Our family of 4 fit comfortably in the two bedroom guest house. The parents stayed in the larger bedroom with the king bed (very comfy) and the kiddos (5 and 18m) slept in the smaller room. The smaller room is easy to make dark and cozy for the kiddos. Laura gave us a pack n play for our little one to sleep in. It was perfect.We spent warm evenings on the back porch lounging on the comfy chairs and playing games on the big table. Mornings were spent looking for geckos and checking to see if any avocados fell from the tree! There is a quiet road behind the house for short walks and horses occasionally across the street at the prep school. The backyard is even a great place for a little star gazing if you don’t want to take an after sunset adventure with Littles but still want to experience the beautiful skies.The house was very clean, the towels, linens and dishes were all great quality. We appreciated the variety of coffee making devices and were charmed by the attention to detail the owner had shown to decor (the Tupperware lids even match the red theme!)The location can’t be beat, a great park is just minutes away and you are within a 15-20 min drive to amazing beaches. We loved Spencer Beach and the beach at the Mauna Kea resort (though it’s a bit of a walk)."

"College friends renewing old relationship. House had everything needed to relax and fully enjoy the setting. Separate lodging in cottage was a boon to having some down time and accommodating different sleep/rise patterns. Wish there'd been a small deck table to enjoy sunset dinner outside living/kitchen area.......Hostess is wonderful, helpful and a real joy to the stay."

"The "cottage" really is an octagon! The decks with views of the ocean and views of the beautiful hills behind were just wonderful. We grilled one night, ate breakfast outside, and absolutely loved star gazing. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed (including a blender), and the bathroom was clean and nicely designed.Yumi was a great host: always easy to communicate with and had quick answers to questions.The Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site was an amazing place to see whales, and there were volunteers to help spot them on Tuesday morning. We drove south of Captain Cook for snorkeling one day and it was great to see another part of the island. The farmer's market in Waimea was full of fresh food and friendly people. There is so much to do on Hawaii.This place was a great jumping off point for adventures, and it was also a wonderful place to relax"

"The property exudes peace and tranquility in a cozy, yet expansive setting. The ‘neighborhood’ is as perfect as they get, with each of the houses occupying at least 3 acres, individually. Perfect view of Mauna Kea. Unpolluted night skies, on cloudless nights for glimpsing the vastness of our universe… up close and personal. The bed was quite comfortable. Only one disappointment: just a single burner hot plate for cooking. Catrinka is a gracious and considerate host. "

"We have been to the Big Island many times and staying Waipio Gardens was one of the best trips we've ever had there. It is a beautiful property that provided serenity, great hiking and amazing beach time. The house is nestled in the jungle in the valley with gorgeous plants, fruit trees, lots of birds and even wild horses. We picked and enjoyed fresh oranges, grapefruit and papaya. The hosts, Sukumar and Kristi, were very helpful in the planning of the trip as well as ferrying us to and from the house. Getting there was indeed part of the adventure and this location provides the opportunity to experience a part of the island that most will never get to see. Would highly recommend!"
