"Marea has great management and staff, from Sofia and Luisa who helped me book tours that were just right for my family to Jaime and Jenni at the front desk and the amazing bar and restaurant crew - Fernando, Rodrigo, Carlos and Tirso! Marea is on a 20 km stretch of pure white sand each with almost no one around! The property is beautiful and the villas with plunge pools on the deck, beautiful interiors and comfortable furniture make it hard to want to go beyond your own front (patio) doors! "

There is a space above the reception that is set up like a bar but was never open the two times we stayed there. 2. Rooms are luxurious but there is no glass in the windows/doors so when it is hot (most of the time in Zihuatanejo) you have all the shutters closed for A/C so no view at all. "20 years ago, this property would have been spectacular. However, today is is very run down. Our unit had sewer smells each morning, the power plugs didn’t work, many light switches were broken, the safe didn’t work and our towels were frayed and worn.
