"Lovely stay"

"Property is very grand and well maintained. There is some work going on in the grounds at the moment but that doesn't detract from the way it looks or is presented. Rooms in the paddock annex are nice but wifi was lacking which wasn't ideal as we were there for work purposes. Only other downside, is that the food choices are either high end or the bar menu which itself is limited. There needs to be more a mid-range restaurant option in my opinion. "Lovely 2 night stay here. Room was spacious, tea and coffee facilities. Room was over all clean, a couple of areas needed more tlc. Breakfast was buffet style and it was very nice, plenty of choice, from fresh fruit to a full cooked breakfast. Bus stop handy to get in and out of town. Would recommend and would stay again! Staff were very friendly and helpful. "

"We arrived at the Vanbrugh House Hotel for our anniversary expecting our standard double room booking and what we paid for. They surprised us with an upgrade at no extra cost to the Vicarage Suite which was absolutely phenomenal. We had two baths and a shower, multiple sofas with a huge kingsize bed along with chocolates and a bottle of prosecco in ice. We can't recommend this hotel enough. The suite even included its own private garden! "

"Hotel had ample free parking for residents. Bedroom was clean and tidy but the lighting is mostly provided by bedside wall lights or angle poise lamps. As a result the room was somewhat gloomy. Dining was available in the bar, tables were somewhat low. Food choice was good. Breakfast was a good choice. Staff were efficient. Hotel entrance was spoilt by the abundance of cigarette butts on the floor and plant containers. "
