"Motel has a lower star rating but was convenient for my purpose of a Greenlane clinical center appointment, was able to walk to it, and the price was good. Was also walking distance to shop in Newmarket. No problems locating parking spaces for me. Would use this motel again. Regards, Ron."

"We liked Alexander Inn/the Newmarket area so much we cancelled our stay in the city center to stay here. They were very accommodating, storing our luggage and allowing us to leave our car in their garage after checkout while we went to get breakfast. Everyone was very kind, the rooms were nice, we LOVED all of their little plants, and there was lots of great things to do within walking distance. If I come back to Auckland, I'll be staying here again."

"A great spot to stay if you are heading to the ASB Showgrounds, or even town if you are wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of central Auckland. Staff are very helpful and it has plenty of off road parking. Heaps of great dining options within a 10min drive. Great value accommodation. "

"quite old property, very dated exterior, public area not exactly appealling; bit sad, needs huge upgrafing; however, staff very attentive, professional, gd communicator, we drove 5 hours from New Plymouth, arrivaed at reception and hour prior to check in time; since a room is ready, we could check in, great courtesy room 12 we stayed, no hot water! possibly an oversight; room is tidy, minimalistic which appeals to us; very thoroughly cleaned; bedding, pillows comfly, often with old property and...

"Friendly, helpful staff; Clean room and facilities; Great breakfast; Good sized clean room with fridge and microwave; Great location, Great view, Taxi's right out front of hotel; Lots of shops, grocery stores and restaurants close. Didn't like: how the bathroom door served as a combo for the shower and door to bathroom & we had a room with a "connecting" door; do not get this unless you're sharing with family or friends; the person in the other room was very ill and we could hear coughing and other unpleasant sounds."
