"The security was very rude and intimidatory. They Would not allow me into the property without my key card. I explained that my friend has the key card and went back to the room early. I was the lead guest in the booking. I had email confirmation, my ID and the card I used to pay. Hotel security still refused me entry. I had to call the reception desk to get approval access. This was 4am. Prior to this rude hiccup I enjoyed my stay. After this incident it put a dampen on the rest of the trip."

"A great one night stay. We were given a free upgrade. Room and bathroom very nice. Upgraded room wasn't in 'the prison' though so lacked the charm of the older part of the hotel. Staff very pleasant. A bit of an issue with breakfast: everyone's food took a long time to arrive. Restaurant manager refunded everyone's breakfast bill without having to be asked. "

"A lovely place to stay and very central. Friendly staff and a convenient location. Lovely cooked breakfast. The shower was a bit dated and there were no radiators but there was an electrical radiator. The room itself was of good quality. Would definately stay here again."

"Stay was good as always, just one minor issue hence a 4. Staff and rooms was great as always, except heating was an issue. Room was really cold and thermostat either didn’t work or heating was insufficient. Covers on bed did keep me warm enough to sleep but was still cold. I will still return regardless just wanted to express my concern."
