"Visiting Bath for a rugby match meant the hotel was in a great location. Easy walking distance to the Rex. Easy walking distance to all the bars shops and restaurants. Lovely welcome from staff in reception, friendly bar staff - delicious food and food menu in the evening although some choices were not available at 8pm on a Saturday night despite there being only 3 tables filled. Great breakfast buffet. Only complaint for the weekend was reporting the toilet flush/ cistern not working properly...

The Flodden Tree This tree was planted to commemorate Thomas de Berkeley's actions in successfully commanding a large troop on men at the battle of Flodden in 1513. He was rewarded with the honour of knighthood on the field of battle for his services from the Earl of Surrey, who commanded the English army. The ground around the tree has built up over the centuries and relatively recently it was showing signs of suffocation of the roots, hence the depression now excavated around the base to alleviate the problem.
