"This hotel is in a perfect location. It’s very clean and the rooms are good size. However, a large portion of the rooms are overlooking the trash dumpsters and you hear them empty them every morning at 6 AM. The front desk lady is snarky, if that kind of thing bothers you."

"Good location, friendly and helpful staff, fun game area, and comfortable beds. However - I personally would not stay again due to the heavy use of fragrances throughout the hotel - both in the lobby/shared areas and a different perfume smell in rooms. Staff informed me this is from a cleaner and all rooms have the same smell, and no rooms have windows that open. The heater/AC also goes from heat to AC, so the rooms get very dry at night. Two of us got migraines from the constant smell...

"First off, it is a classic SF icon of a hotel. (And the Fairmont across the street has rooms like the Mark since both hotels are 'seniors' yet classic beautiful public areas). The IHG group purchased it in 1973 and even during the late 90s it was still well maintained and didn't show its age). However now, it is showing its age! The rooms are meh since they are clearly aging (and NOT in a super classic way) and are very dated. The place needs a renov! Would I stay there again? Probably not. But...

"Stayed at this property as a single business traveler and had a very good experience with check-in, very well designed and appointed art-boutique hotel, rooftop access overlooking the city, modernly designed rooms, easily walk to BART train station as well as other areas. Would stay again."

"Stayed two nights, mostly working so didn't get to use the pool or spend time in the restaurant, but the highlight of this hotel has to be the service. The entire team was friendly, engaged, and professional.
