"Shabby rather than shabby chic. But clean small room for a very reasonable price directly opposite the station. Stayed there many years ago and it was a dump. But needs must so rebooked for a quick workbthing. Its been refurbished and the bathrooms are very good. The building is very old and the windows are in need of maintenance. Great for a short stay before an early eurostar or an onward journey from Kings Cross. "

"My room was small, even by London standards, it smelt so fresh of paint I was feared to touch the walls in case it was still wet! A lot of the hotel was still waiting on the upgrade but the lifts worked ok. The shower had 2 temperatures and not built for the cuddly figure! The bed is v low so look out if you have mobility issues. The continental breakfast was toast, beans , boiled egg, muesli and yogurt and cereals I didn’t recognise plus fresh fruit. Would I stay again? Probably as I only enter...

"The only thing you have to realize is the rooms are small. Fully functional, but small. No refrigerator, no ice. But a good hotel within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs, and the Underground. The breakfast buffet is limited but good."
