Surprise at how close the Mitre was to Paddington train station - the ease to catch the Elizabeth Line underground to Paddington station and a short 1 block walk to the hotel saved time and money.

Convenient parking, enabling a walk to Albert Hall. Staff very pleasant. Single glazed windows, nice but very noisy. Beautiful old building but in desperate need of upgrade - especially the bathroom. International visitors would definitely get wrong impression of an ‘English’ breakfast! ALL IN ALL, ADEQUATE FOR OUR OVERNIGHT STAY

It’s a shame that I’m writing this as generally I’m positive about most places I stay. However, this happened to be one of the worst places I’ve ever booked. I blindly booked based on the proximity to Paddington and the 8 rating, I was in a hurry and didn’t do the usual checks. I can only assume that most of the reviews are fake or I’m completely missing something here. And yes, based on now reading other reviews I am expecting a snarky and unhelpful response from the hotel owner, I did not receive a refund of any kind despite Expedia trying their best so I literally have nothing to lose. This was the dirtiest and most run down hotel I’ve ever encountered, and sadly it was miles off being the cheapest, so this is not a “you get what you pay for” scenario. I booked a single room for one night, every surface had a decent layer of dust and dirt (images and videos available), there were hairs in the bathroom, and the bed linen seemed like it was beyond used. From the draughty window and door barely on its hinges, lack of safe (yes, I'm aware of the security deposit boxes at reception), I deemed the property also to be totally unsafe. That’s before we mention the weird rules of no hot food in rooms and instead to use the dire dining room. I did not get a chance to even experience that fully though as I checked in and promptly checked out ~30 minutes later. Front of house staff had barely any reaction, which tells me this is a common occurrence. Avoid.

Super fast check in, all staff friendly and helpful.Breakfast was served very quickly and efficiently with.The breakfast was very good everything cooked well and staff attentive to our needs.Great to have a lift available.Lobby seating are very inviting loved the very big lion as you enter. Rustic and olde world, with a piano! Staff on the desk were great day or night.

Good location a few blocks off Hyde Park. Easy transportation options or walkable if you like to walk. Rooms basic, a little small but clean. Good English breakfast included if you can get up early enough as it stops by 9 am.

Fabulous location. Friendly staff. Short walk to Paddington Station. Lots of good food options all around. Property is a little dated but clean and everything works. The free English breakfast was generous and tasty. Only reason we gave a 4 was that the rooms, and the bathroom, were a little small and even with just 2 people, there wasn't space to move around.

Those hotel so run down. Carpets everything is old and shabby. The evening staff wonderful. There seems to be one mai. Person in charge. She’s very abrasive def would not recommend this hotel. Rare that I have this kind of experience.
