"Quirky and remote property from the Showa era that evokes Ghibli-esque charm. The weather was cold and rainy but our stay at one of the cabins was warm and comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were varied and delicious. Staff spoke English. Highly recommend! "

We bought the three onsen pass and enjoyed going to three other location. We also went to Onsen Yumerindo which has a great outdoor onsen. Wonderful relaxing two nights."

"Our stay was unique and our hosts were hospitable and warm. A family run ryokan. The kaiseki dinner was also aesthetically pleasing and delish! Our chalet was very private and set in the midst of the woods. It had a private bath and bedrock sauna that looked out into the maple trees and bamboo trees. Great for relaxing after climbing Mt Aso!"

"We had a car incident forcing us to not arrive until 9pm, way past their checkin and dinner time. We told them that we will be late and they were so accommodating. We did not expect they would still have dinner for us (included in price), but to our surprise, they had their receptionist, restaurant staff and chef waiting for us - just us!! We still had our full course meal!! We were so touched and so thankful. They were so kind!! Thank you. 200% service!!"

"There is no than one Aso Hotel. The pictures shown on Expedia are not from the same hotel. This hotel is very old."

"The hot spring is good and 13 kinds of sauna are very nice. There are also mini zoo and strawberries farm therein. Good to stay there with kids."
