Gorgeous surroundings but the view while bathing in the private hot spring is blocked. Food overall was delicious but I requested a substitution of sausage for fish at breakfast and the sausage was low quality in sharp contrast to all the other food we had. Staff was exceedingly friendly and accommodating!
it was a fabulous hot spring hotel experience. All staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Rooms are a bit dated, but well maintained and cleaned. Fantastic meals provided by the hotel and the outdoor hot springs are super doped. Will definitely stay at this place again in the future.
Staff at Yumeshizuku was most helpful and anticipated our needs before us even speaking. They would take the intiative and give out tips on the touristy activities to do and visit. The location is slightly further but no problems if you have a car and plan ahead. The restaurant staff was delightful, putting a cot bed next to our table for our baby. We enjoyed the food and service, thank you very much!
Stayed for 2 nights with my family 2 kids. Good size rooms. Excellent service. Can’t ask for anything more. Will always stay again when coming back to Aso.
Hotel was nice and clean, staff were helpful, food were nice; even Wi-Fi was fast in such area. Just a little bit remote from the city but this is what we expected so just perfect for us.
The room is very comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. Dinner and breakfast is delicious. I will stay here when I come again. I would like to say thank you to the Chinese staffs, they are really helpful and nice.
The moment we stepped inside, I knew this place is going to be amazing. One of the staff members actually directed us because she ran into us as we were searching for the hotel. She quickly dashed into the hotel and grabbed other staff members to help us with our luggage and took our shoes.
We originally planned to drive up to Mount Aso but we were told the usual 15min route was not safe so the staff spent a great deal of time explaining to us another route if we still choose to go up. There happen to be an intern there that spoke mandarin which my relatives understood and she was very attentive to us the entire time we were there.
There's a foot bath immediately outside the lobby area which we took advantage pretty right after we settled into our amazing rooms. The rooms were beautiful with sliding doors as curtains if you don't want to look out to the beautiful, breathtaking landscape. You can see the weather change before your eyes, it was magnificent. I didn't feel crowded even thought there's 3 of us in one room. If there has to be one thing I can improve is the washroom water tab. We kept hitting it down thinking the water would stop but it was the opposite haha.
The meals were absolutely delight. Delish multi course dinner and if you're adventurous, there's horse sashimi. The hotel asked us beforehand for food allergies which they took well care of.
Their onsen is part indoor and part outdoor so you can enjoy a mountain view as you soak in the hot water.
What makes this ryokan outstanding is not inside the ryokan, but the magniificant view of the Minamiaso caldera mountains in the horizon. It is such a calming and magnificent view that one cannot stop taking pictures - which do not do justice to what lies before one's eyes. The ryokan is noted for its atrium where guests can rest on arm chairs to admire the mountains. The food is alright though the dining hall is somewhat plain. The service staff was good. We did not use the common bath - as we booked a room with an indoor bath. Overall, it was a memorable stay.
Very friendly hotel staffs and delicious Japanese food. The hotel makes you feel like a home. We have a very good conversation with restaurant server and learn the Japanese culture.
