The 5*** rating I gave is absolutely true as the hotel is immaculate, the attached pub is great and the staff are so pleasant and welcoming. Well Done all. So much so…. "The quintessential B&B experience. From the checking in process to breakfast in the morning it was made to feel like we were a guest in a home, not a business. We loved every minute of it. Location is perfect for the Castle, beach and local businesses. Bed was very comfortable as was the downstairs living area. We didn’t want for anything. Street parking is a little hit or miss, but there isn’t anything our host can do about that, just be prepared for a little walk from your car to the front...

"You have to understand you're staying in a heritage building, within a town centre, above a busy, excellent pub/resteraunt. To some extent, the bedroom is a secondary consideration. However, staff very friendly, room warm & comfortable, food excellent and ideal for exploring Alnwick. Great stay, but don't expect the Ritz. "

Arriving on a Friday afternoon we received a lovely friendly welcome and had a evening meal on our first night. We stayed in room 7 a fantastic large bathroom which look brand new. Every member of staff we had dealings with very friendly and helpful. "
