"Beautiful apartment in lovely, historic building. Extremely tasteful furnishings with fantastic mullioned windows. Very scenic spot with gorgeous views and a very pretty town- Rothbury. Super walks from the house and only 25 minutes from very sandy Alnmouth beach. Our dog loved it all and we, as well as him, were made to feel very welcome by the owner in our communication. "

"The apartment is charming, atop the watchtower in a restored mill, & the main living-room/kitchen is lovely, with sloping ceilings, dormer windows & huge fridge & plenty of seating. The bedrooms are pleasant, especially the main one, with lovely views across the bay to Holy Island. The kitchen is reasonably well-stocked. The curtains are falling off the rails. The sofa cushions smell like a dog slept on them. There is also a really noisy outdoor bar next door which plays loud music all day and evening at the weekends. For example, the light in the bathroom is super bright and motion activated -- imagine going there at night... and the sensor doesn't "see" the shower, so the light goes off just as you've shampooed your head. The kitchen isn't equipped for cooking (no functional knives, only one pan and a huge one at that, some drawers cannot open because they run into handles of others, no dish soap provided and exactly one...
