"Came a bit early but could check in early. Room was perfect , and had a sea view.. Breakfast was very good.. Evenings after 22.00 were quiet although dogs nearby started their 'orchestra' every evening around 17.00. Staff were excellent and extremely helpful especially the receptionists. They even arranged a lovely lunch packet as we had a very early flight back. This was a cozy down to earth hotel."

"Loved the boutique hotel. Situated at the top of the hill next to the cable car station and monte palace gardens. Also only a few minute walk to the wicker toboggan start point. Great staff, overall lovely stay and would stay again. One caveat, if you are planning on having a car, make sure you are comfortable driving VERY narrow, steep and winding roads. "

"The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel.
