"The home is high on a hill, modern and very clean. The pool is wonderful and a perfect temperature. We stayed for 1 month. Beatrice met us at the house and responded to our questions quickly. The cleaning crew came in once a week which was fantastic We were not prepared for how steep and narrow the roads were in our area, but it appears to be the norm. My husband eventually became an expert driver. Madeira is a wonderful place to visit. We are happy we chose An Island Apart. "

"The property is a 15 minute bus ride from the centre of Funchal, in the Santo Antonio area. We really liked this as it felt like being in a very normal suburban area, even if this area did bring the world Ronaldo! "The home was clean and well situated. We enjoyed the views from the upper balcony and the pool. it should be noted you cannot see the ocean or views from the pool or when sitting on the ground floor because of the wall, however when you stand up or go to the upper level you can. It is about a 10 minute convenient drive to funchal and close to the highway. Well situated to explore the island."

"We felt pampered in this huge old (1826) villa. The rooms are large with soaring ceilings. Many of the furnishings are gorgeous antiques; every bedroom has a large bathroom.The grand piano was played every day with amazing sound acoustics. The gardens and grounds are extensive and are like a private arboretum.
