"Helpful staff, central location, comfy bed, tired gym, great happy hour every night we were there, good food, we were b&b but ate in hotel restaurant 3 nights out of 7. Would definitely consider going back to Madeira and this hotel but there are so many destinations to reach before that happens!!"

"Our stay at Reid 's Palace was nothing short of exquisite! From the moment we stepped onto the property, until we departed, we experienced only the finest of service and accommodation. We were on the first 3 days of our honeymoon and every moment was memorable. The views - the twinkling lights at dusk, the lovely breakfasts ... I could go on and on. We received lovely handwritten notes of congratulations on beautiful stationery, and a bottle of champagne beautifully presented in an ice bucket....

"This is, by far, one of the best hostels that I’ve been. Everything is so pretty! The building is vintage (with an interesting background history), and the location is excellent (in the heart of the historic center). The hosts were super friendly and helpful, especially Cristina. The room was very spacious, tidy, and peaceful. The kitchen was great and fully operational. I only experienced a problem with the window (that wasn’t opening) but apart from that, everything was absolutely smooth....

"Good communication with Carolina, close to the old town approx 15-20 min walk to cable car, there is a very steep walk back to the property. Unfortunately due to storm Oscar we weren’t able to use the pool. But the garden is surprisingly private. Property was clean and comfortable We used a taxi driver called Nuno, recommended by Carolina to collect us from the airport, he also took us on a lovely day tour around the north of the island, then back to the airport. "It was very central for the town of Funchal. The room had everything and the lady on reception was very very helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast could have been warmer and the restaurant kept odd hours and didn't feel like it was part of the hotel. As you are in the heart of the town you have to expect noise at night from residents living nearby"

"Lovely weekend at Monte Carlo hotel, for flower festival and hiking. Marcia on reception was very helpful and polite with advice. Steep walk up to hotel but lovely views from terrace and hotel once there. Would stay again. Thanks"
