"Staff were great and attentive, nice little fruit farm close by. But hotel is a bit isolated so need to drive out to go elsewhere. Had a bit of kids toys you can borrow to play both indoor and outdoor that the kids loved!"

"The hot spring is good and 13 kinds of sauna are very nice. There are also mini zoo and strawberries farm therein. Good to stay there with kids."

"Our stay was unique and our hosts were hospitable and warm. A family run ryokan. The kaiseki dinner was also aesthetically pleasing and delish! Our chalet was very private and set in the midst of the woods. It had a private bath and bedrock sauna that looked out into the maple trees and bamboo trees. Great for relaxing after climbing Mt Aso!"

"We had a lovely time at Sekoen. Everyone there is very professional. Their smiling faces really light the the days of guests. The meals are very delicious and they are very thoughtful to include local delicacy in their dishes. I am especially impressed with the way they serve the breakfast and dinner. They explain the ingredients and the way to enjoy food in details so they we can not only enjoy the food, but also get to know more about the local food culture.
