"This place was amazing!!!! Recommend! Check in was quick and easy. The views are spectacular on top of the mountain. The room was cozy and with a kitchen which we didn’t use. We left our car in the parking lot and took a tuk tuk to Panajachel for Q10 each person instead of paying Q10 per hour in parking!!! Very safe and Quiet!!"

"Hotel Sol is an excellent choice to stay when visiting the Panajachel area. Unlike many other places in the area, the building is secure, very clean, the rooms are big, the shower (hot and cold water) actually works, and the staff are attentive and helpful. Although the hotel is in the periphery of Panachel, for less than $1 (5 quetzales) you can hop into a tuck-tuck and go anywhere in Panajachel. I have stayed in several places in the area and Hotel Sol is my number one choice."

"We booked Hotel Victoria, but when we arrived there was no one at the reception. People on the street redirected us to the next hotel, Posada Gutierez, as apparently was under the same chain/owner. We were offered accommodation at another (3rd location) within a villa that looked like it was still under construction. All ceilings were unfinished, all bed linings and towels were not cleaned properly. There was an area to be shared, including a kitchen, where a whole window was missing. In front...

"Nice accommodations and great view! Good location. It's centric and other places are at walking distance or by renting a "Tuc-Tuc" (motorcycle taxi). Right beside the dock where boats leave to other places around the Lake. "

"Very pleasant stay. We slept very well and the food is good. Downside is the shower didn't have any lights so they put some headlamps, it was okay. The front desk was able to help us with shuttle and luggage. It was a bit peculiar the compost system of the bathroom, but it wasn't unpleasant. We enjoyed our stay."

"This was such a delightful surprise after 2 weeks of travel. I'd stayed at other hospedajes closer to the lake, but wanted something a bit more quite, and this was definitely it! The rooms ate simple and beautiful. The shower was onenof the nicest I've seen, and it's the perfect budgetary point. The bed was also comfy and I had a great time talking with the staff. I will definitely be back!"
