"I wasn’t expecting luxury when I booked my stay at Horizon, but I was at least expecting adequate facilities. The room, with its one lightbulb, small window and mold all over the walls and fan, was dark and dirty. I’ve stayed at some rough hostel, bungalows, and hotels over the years, but this was by far the most disgusting and run-down. If that wasn’t bad enough, during what was supposed to be a four-night stay (I only stayed two because it was so bad), the toilet and shower never worked....

"Nice people and pool. Short walk to the beach. A good value. We liked walking one block to the main drag to eat. Long Beach is our favorite on Koh Lanta. Prices were less resorts there."

"This hostel is amazing from the staff to the location everything is right. It's based in a bungalow resort so you get to use all the resort facilities. Decent swimming pool and the beach is a few mins walk. The staff done everything for us without effort, I only booked 2 nights here and ended up staying 9 nights. Defo recommended from me"

"What a great place to stay. And like previous reviewers have mentioned it's the management/owners that make this place special. From our pick up at the ferry docks to our departure in a hired van to the nearest airport that the hotel arranged our stay was wonderful. No pool but a short walk puts you on one of the nicest, clean and empty beaches I have ever seen. Warm water with gentle waves and gorgeous sunsets. Bar/restaurants along the beach and all along the main road within short...

"Pretty decent budget hotel. We were reasonably comfortable there. The bungalows are detached which means you don't hear the noise of the neighbours which is good. They provide breakfast which is a bonus and a paid for laundry service which we used. There was also a small safe in the room which was good. The couple who ran it were nice. It's a bit out of town which meant it was quiet but a bit of a hike up a hill to get back. We didn't have a scooter so were walking. The rooms could probably do...

"The chalets were completely inaccessible on the side of a mountain. You couldn’t drive a normal car up to them and to get to them you had to climb up very steep and very wet steps mostly just stones. There is no way you could carry a suitcase. The views were amazing but I never stayed there it was impossible. I believe they are building a road then it should be ok"
