"This home is nice for an affordable base near the park if you want the flexibility of being able to relax in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is well appointed as is the open design living and dining room. Having access to a full size washer and dryer is a huge bonus given the amount of rain on this side of the island. "Stayed during Christmas break. Great place, very cozy! The gas fire places throw just enough heat for the chilly winter nights. The kids really liked the bunk beds under the stairs, and the jacuzzi tub. The host left bath bombs and snacks for them. I liked drinking coffee in the hammock chairs in the morning."

"Stayed for only one night. 20 minutes from the park. House is spacious, quirky and lovely (it is a geodesic dome). Secluded yard with large covered back deck we enjoyed. Jenny is a gracious host who met us and toured the house with us, explaining everything along the way. House was clean with lots of linens and a fridge full of condiments and such free for us to use. House can easily sleep a large family. "

"Truly beautiful off grid home with all you need for a comfortable, peaceful stay! The welcome fruit and goodies was a special surprise and very much appreciated! Just a short drive to Volcano National Park which enabled us to see it at night as well as during the day. Really enjoyed the stargazing in the beautiful, clear night sky. The beds were super comfy! Highly recommend!!"

"We had a great stay in this new house about 25 minutes from Hilo. The house is comfortable and modern and had all the amenities that kept our family of 6 comfortable during our stay. It’s a short 3 minute drive down to the water and some amazing sunrises over the ocean with waves crashing on the rocks. Be a bit cautious pulling into the driveway as there is a lip on it that can damage your car if not taken slowly. Great stay near Hilo!"

"This is a cute little house perfect for a couple. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There is a washer/dryer (we didn't use since we weren't there very long), there is a fully equipped kitchen. There is a fire pit on the deck that would have been nice to use, but the weather wasn't ideal (cold/rainy most of the time)."
