"This was a fine hotel to stay in for a couple days, and the people working there were friendly and helpful. Shared bathroom was clean enough for the most part, as was the little kitchen used. Towels, coffee, tea, and TV were in the room, which was nice, and the bed was comfortable. It's not a fancy hotel, but works for solo traveller looking for inexpensive accommodation. 20 min walk to city centre and buses run right by the hotel. "

"Lovely historical property and good value for money. Quiet location, great stop off for travelling on the A66, with Barnard Castle just a short drive. Easy check into cosy courtyard cottage. Nicely decorated and furnished, though the bed would benefit from a better quality mattress. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Evening pub menu satisfactory but not exceptional."

"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. During our stay all else in...

"An old farm house, located directly on a crossroads, with views over the countryside. The room was clean, pleasant, and comfortable. It was more a guest house than a B&B, with the main rooms, including the kitchen, available to everyone. Guests avail themselves of supplies and facilities to make their own breakfast. Host was friendly and welcoming."
