"This is a lovely hotel. Lots of space and fabulous views of the local countryside. The rooms are boutique style and the bed was comfy. Quite a basic breakfast but everything was good quality and hot. I will definitely return in the summer to enjoy the bar's outside space"

"Hotel is stunning and in a beautiful location. Check in queue took around 20 mins to get through but otherwise pleasant. Room was on floor1, room was nice but no fridge as stated ! This needs to be known for those who carry insulin pens and need to store them in the fridge or other medication that requires refrigeration.The bed was big and comfortable. No glasses in the bathroom so nothing to rinse with after brushing. Decor was dated and a lot of cobwebs around the ceiling. Otherwise all clean...

"The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Room was a bit on the cold side better than too warm. Breakfast was okay but I’ve had better. Location is good easy access to town centre if your catching a train you need to allow 30 mins from checking out of the hotel to been on the platform which is a leisurely walk for an able bodied person. It’s a 10 minute walk to local auction. Staff were helpful without been over the top."

"Lovely room. We were in Thyme. Small but very comfortable for a couple of nights. Very handy for Beamish museum. Fabulous food in restaurant both evenings and breakfast in the conservatory was also excellent. Lovely beer garden with the most amazing hanging baskets I have ever seen. Little shed areas with heaters made it great to chill after dinner. All staff encountered were great. If I had to give a negative I would say I wish could have turned off the outside light over the door as it was...

"Really enjoyed out stay. Hotel food was lovely for both breakfast and dinner. We had a large room at the front of the hotel, only real issue was a bit of noise from people chatting in the street under the window as not double glazed but real issue. We would book again"
