"What an amazing hostel! Perfect location and lovely building, The panelled lounge full of lovely leather sofas, books and a roaring fire was particularly fine. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the beer was good and the full english veggie breakfast the ideal precursor to some stiff walking. "

It's 2 mins away behind buildings over the road. About half a mile, flat walk to station and town centre but £1.80 on one of the many buses that stop outside. Fantastic breakfast with cereals if you wish, juice/tea and full English."

"Stayed for three nights during some work I had to do in Carlisle. It is an excellent location, 5 minutes from the centre. I judge 3 things at a B&B: Bed - Very comfy, clean and with a nice warm duvet. Breakfast - Very tasty, substantial, with good quality ingredients. Loved it. Shower - Many B&Bs struggle to maintain a good water pressure in the shower. Not the case here, excellent pressure. Overall this is an excellent B&B and I will be returning next time my work takes me to Carlisle."
