"Does what it says on the tin. Simple but functional. The room was clean but the outside window was not. The towel hook next to the shower was missing. It would have been helpful to have a small desk and chair. For the price, it delivered what I had expected. "

"Although basic was warm and comfy there was hairs all over the bathroom and bed from previous person sockets were in odd place and roller blind didn’t work didn’t spoil my stay though I found it pleasant enough easy check in was taken to room explained codes previous reviews said noisy doors slamming ect traffic noise I didn’t experience any of this found it easy to sleep and quiet great location and easy to find "

"All in all nice little cottage for a couple and good as was pet friendly to go up Durham to visit our son up uni and take our dog to see him too. Cottage was nice a little place although i think the tv was slightly too high on wall. As we arrived there were 3 plumbing vans parked outside so had to park out side another cottage for bout hour n half till they moved their vans after going in pub at front of cottages before parking own car then outside our own cottage. "Arrived and they didn’t have the room - "

"We picked a very busy day to need a bed in Durham as it was the university open weekend. La Spada was reasonably priced & good enough, despite quite a few adverse reviews. The hotel is not set up to take guests after 10pm, a fact not highlighted when we booked at 11.30pm & then tried to get in. Fortunately we were admitted. There was no breakfast service."
