After a long drive from Newquay to Edinburgh, did a stay over in Newcastle, hotel was very affordable, clean, and staff also really friendly, would definitely stay again on future visits

Booked the Cairn but my room was over the road at the Carlton so bear this in mind when booking room walls paper thin had the pleasure or a courting couple in the early hours in next room on the upside my booking said continental breakfast but it was hot buffet did have to ask for my vip discount for the restaurant

We booked to stay in the Cairn not the Carlton. We could not get into or out of bed without sliding down a wall on both sides, one side was so close to the window reveal you had to avoid the corner. So narrow was the gap there was only room for ine bedside table. The bathroom door literally did not move, jammed half open/closed. The kitchen extraction disturbed us till late and early in the morning. A very poor experience.

Good hotel for the price, friendly staff
Good sized comfortable triple room, great value for the price. The staff were helpful and friendly. We booked the Cairn Hotel but our accommodation was in the Carlton Hotel over the road from the Cairn Hotel. There is a sports bar on the ground floor but it wasn't too noisy to cause us a problem just something to be aware of.

Extremely good value , basic but very clean rooms . Ours was above a bar, but no noise at all! Excellent breakfast, lovely staff and evening meal at Sohe was extremely tasty Would very much recommend
