"Very helpful and friendly staff. The outside seating areas smelled of cigarettes and the room smelled of dryer sheets or something. They had a very nice laundry machine and commercial dryer, but it was outside and didn't have a combination lock. "The location of the hotel is amazing, you cannot be closer to the Great Buddha, it is also a good experience to sleep in an old Japanese room. That said, you then understand why old Japanese houses are not worth much and Japanese people tend to prefer living in some modern less exotic dwellings. "Although we only stayed a night before heading out to Osaka, the property was great! Decently spacious, and an extremely walkable distance to dining and the train station. It made lugging our suitcases much easier as it was only a 5 minute walk to the Shin-Okubo station! Towels, toiletries, and even sanitary items were provided for us! Place had an a/c unit as well which we used to keep us warm. "

"Great location in Hase area of Kamakura. Easy walking distance to beach and temples. Good public transit near by. Clean and quiet location. Didn’t realize I’d have to share a toilet with several other rooms. My room had a shower, but my family had to use another on the first floor. It was locked when they wanted to use it and no staff around to assist. They ended up using mine, which was fine as we’re family, but it would have been easier if the room key worked for the showers too. "

"I once stayed in a traditional Japanese hotel. but this feels more like a hostel. The rooms are very small and so is the shared spaces. This place is good for solo travel or a quick night stay. The things I enjoyed the most was the comfortable mattresses and the ability to drop my luggage off in the morning. "

"So many thing about this place is worth it because the owner is easy going and understand many languages the family in the house are comforting and respectful I walked the area every spot was pretty close and the neighborhood was very nice and you get almost a beach view definitely worth the night being there "

"Good value, we liked this quieter side of Shinjuku but the bathroom has an awful sewer smell all the time. If the bathroom door is closed it’s fine. Overall, for the price we loved the space was we had 4 large suitcases, 1 carry on and 4 large back packs. We are a family of 4 travelling, so space was important for us."

"It was really close to the Metro Government Building and 10 minute walk to Shinjuku station. You could also walk underground to the station if it’s raining outside but it took us 3 days to figure out how to walk back to the hotel underground. Last day, we finally figured it out. The twin beds room was small and we couldn’t open our luggage on the floor. We had to put it on our bed to get to our luggages. We were only there 5 days so it was fine just for sleep. Very clean, staff spoke English, very helpful and friendly. The area was great and close to everything. "
