Aside from the house ventilation being a bit noisy and firm (but still comfortable enough) beds, these were quite minor considering the price range for such a lovely space. "This is a great spot. It's about 5 minutes from the Opua Ferry and less than 10 from Russell. It's super remote and quiet. Taking our suburban kids (9 and 4) was fantastic. There is a little boat shed at the bottom of the hill and access to a beach which my older kid loved exploring. The beach itself is quite rocky and full of oyster shells so not recommended for swimming but Long Beach near Russell is amazing and only a short drive away. The house itself is clean, tidy and well loved. ...

"Our third visit to this amazing beach house and yet again it didn’t disappoint. The hosts are lovely and have thought of everything to make this a relaxing and well-equipped stay. The location gives you the choice of at least 3 beaches to walk to, or just sit back and watch the campsite and harbour comings and goings. Recommend the linen package if you are flying, super comfortable. Already making plans for our next visit. "

"The house is perfect for a couple or small family who want some time at the beach without crowds or traffic. The house was super clean and tidy when we arrived and the beach is just a few metres away. The only downside is there isn't wifi or great phone coverage which was a bit of a problem when someone drove into us on the main road and we needed to arrange rental cars, insurance follow up, etc. "
