"Lovely old grand building in an a beautiful setting- lochside with views to beat any! Friendly staff, great meal. A great location to explore some unique countryside from. Large enough to feel like a well equipped hotel, but small enough to feel exclusive and special. Older room, but felt authentic and comfortable. "

"The landlords (Sue and Craig) were exceptional hosts … the property is located in an amazing location … the surrounding area is full of interesting activities … and if the weather cooperates, the dark sky star watching is truly amazing … we will definitely visit again , and would whole heartedly recommend this place … a great visit 10 out of 10 … "

"Very nice high spec hotel. Rooms have everything you could need. Hotel has a drying room which is handy on a wet day. Great view of the bay. Staff very nice and helpful. Negatives: very limited food menu, nothing for vegans. Seems very overpriced compared to similar hotels in the highlands. "

Extremely friendly welcome in a nice hotel

"For an extremely friendly stay I can highly recommend Balmacara. The rooms are excellent with great views either over the Loch - front - or the mountains - back. The owners and staff could not be friendlier and more helpful. The hotel itself, being just a mile or so on this side of the Skye Bridge, is ideally placed for a day on Skye. I can also highly recommend the restaurant, which is helpful given the dearth of options in the area. "
