"The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly. "Was a nice room. But wow was it roasting hot. We could find anywhere of turning the heating down or off so had a very hot night, even with fans on. The toilet however had no heating so was the opposite and freezing. Nice to have our own little room but think it was too pricey, compared to the many other hotels we stay in for major race events. Breakfast was toast, yogurts or 3 choices of cereal, nothing for vegetarians and not really a continental as offered. "

"When we arrived we were welcomed by our hostess and taken round to the shepherd hut. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The bed was high standard and we slept well. The large rooms have been divided into a number of cosy well appointed rooms Check in was self service and very well organised Ordering breakfast was via a well designed form Lisa and Phil are lovely and we met them at breakfast! Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had, all freshly cooked by Phil! Highly recommended "
