"Just a 10 minute walk from Kings Cross. Property is down a very quiet street which is rare for London. Lovely, big bed and great shower. Only a short walk to Russell Square/Southampton Row, where there are ple ty of pubs & restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break"

"Another comfortable stay at this brilliant hotel. Have stayed here many times, usually a couple of times a month for several years now. Cleanliness is 100%. The showers are absolutely sparkling, the rooms are very well equipped with a working tv, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities , wall mounted fan and even a bottle opener. Beds are good quality as is the white bedding and towels. The hotel is a couple of hundred yards from Marble Arch tube station at the west end of Oxford Street. "

"I made the right choice to pick this hotel. Easy walk fromVictoria station, Buckingham Palace and etc.. The front desk man Sajjad worked with our needs. The breakfast was good and staff were attentive to dining guests always filling up table needs. Location wise, easy transportation, safety and modesty is what you need. I recommend the Dover."

"As long as you manage your expectations this hotel is fine. It is very basic and the breakfast is toast, eggs bacon and beans. Don't expect a breakfast buffet. The beds were a bit saggy but not too bad. The building was centrally heated and we had to open the window on a 5 degree day because the room was too stuffy. Given the general cost of London hotels this is a reasonable choice for a fairly central location."

"Everything was great, from the first interaction at check in we knew we’d made a good choice for our short stay in London. Location was excellent, walking distance to Marble Arch, near bus and tube. Breakfast was excellent, service unreal all round"

"The room was nice and cosy, with lovely fireplace character. The sheets and towels were crispy clean and ironed. The private bathroom was great with warm tile floor as well. My remarks - one of the steps leading to the bathroom had a torn off carpet, so it was sliding. There was a little bit of dust here and there. Other than these, my stay at The Stag was very enjoyable. "

"Room 10 - right by the office. Handy for car park to rear. Quite noisy when the office is busy. When I arrived the guy on the desk said 3 nights for 3 people (I corrected him - 2 nights for 1 person) I was then shown to a single room which I assume he hadn’t planned to give me. He quickly removed what appeared to be used towels from the bathroom and replaced them. "Wonderful apartment with laundry and full kitchen. Endless hot water. Friendly staff, list of restaurants and food markets within easy walking distance. Bed could have been more comfortable but overall I really enjoyed staying here. Would absolutely book again."

good price, location and transport connections

"Nice place to be close to one of the main London shopping arteries - easily to get anywhere in town. A busy and packed hotel, great if you like the buzz of an "American hotel" experience - which I do. Breakfast ok but certainly better value than some of the fashionable eateries on the high street. "

Already planning to go back!

"I was so comfortable here that I really hated leaving to return home. First, the staff is very kind, friendly and helpful. Second, the breakfast was great and had a good variety of choices to create a full breakfast and then some. It was clean and smelled nice. Third, the location was perfect: easy walking distance to trains, buses, taxis always there, the theatres, Covent Garden (fabulous), landmarks, restaurants and many stores including grocery express and some clothing stores. The only drawback was that there was not a socket to plug my hair dryer and flat iron in in the bathroom - even with the adapter. In the room there are charging ports, some international sockets and American appliance sockets. Haxell's the internal restaurant was awesome. Joe Allens - a theatre themed restaurant has an entrance into the hotel. "
