"We enjoyed our first few nights in Hawaii in the Makaha Valley. We were a bit surprised it was a gated 10 (?) story complex, but it turned out fine. The ocean view was fabulous. The buildings were tucked up against the mountains. The foliage, palms, tiki torches and pool gave out a classic Hawaiian vibe, very well received after arriving from the bitter cold of Chicago.
