"Stayed for two nights in advance of riding L'Etape du Tour. Not too far from the start, but time consuming journey due to the winding mountain roads. The apartment was basic, but had everything you need. It wasn't somewhere that you would want to spend time in, but is perfect as a base if you are ski-ing or cycling or are due to spend you time out on activities. Beware of the limited opening times of receptions - which means you can't call the residence if you need directions etc., and also...

"Great location at the top of the resort. Apartment was overall nice, beds very uncomfortable, we had to use all the blankets to lay on!! Staff helpful. Didn’t use pool as no time! Beware of all the hidden extras when booking- extra for towels, Wifi, end of stay cleaning, tv (don’t buy as all french shopping channels!) Comfort pack including all this was €129 for the week. "

"Apartment just like on the pictures. Good size for 2 adults and 1 kids. 2 kids would be okay but no more than that. Not too much storage. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Appliances such hairdryer, raclette grill, fondue are available upon request at the front desk. Spa/jacuzzi is a plus. Red slopes is few feet from the lodging pretty frozen at 9am but that’s the only way if you don’t want to walk 6-7 min"

"De passage, nous avons dormi à la bonne école. La nuit fut excellente dans un joli cocon très bien aménagé et décoré. La maîtresse des lieux nous a tenu compagnie pendant le petit déjeuner (avec d’excellentes confitures maison) et les échanges furent fort sympathiques. Nous étions les seuls et étions donc au calme parfait avec une très jolie vue sur la montagne !! Il y avait même un jacuzzi mais il était malheureusement fermé car le temps pluvieux ne s’y prêtait pas!"

There is shops, restaurants, cafes, bakery, tourist office directly outside the apartment building. Linen and towels can be hired from reception and internet access can be paid for online. "Harold the General Manager made sure everything was perfect. His attention to detail is outstanding. Everyone was so warm and welcoming from the beginning to the end. From the friendly and professional staff in the ski room, Hugo and the girls at reception, the shuttle bus service, the concierge making all our bookings, the exceptional gourmet buffet breakfast every morning, the lounge area where we sat and listened to the piano being played beautifully by the fireplace. Stayed for a week, could have stayed forever. The views whilst having breakfast are breathtaking, as are the views in our room. And the best part is you are steps away from the snow and skiing. Perfection!"

Hotel Golf, Brides-les-Bains: A Good Value for Ski
