"A nice, human- scale NYC hotel well away from the insanity of the tourist areas served by day-trip buses. We had no issues with anything during our 4 day stay during the week before Christmas. Shower/bathroom and beds were particularly nice. We especially liked the three-tier shelving over the toilet for our stuff. The bathroom tilework was beautiful in room 1206. Other guests were mostly older (40-60) couples and we saw few kids- which for us is a blessing. The bar and lounge area was relaxing and comfortable during the evenings and appeared to be a destination spot for younger couples after 10pm. Drink service was friendly and professional. Overall we would make an effort to stay at the Wallace again."

Happy hour was also a nice addition. We have stayed at a number of hotels nearby, but now only stay at the Belleclaire."

"This is an amazing place to stay! Wonderful gym facilities and beautiful pool. I loved access to steam room and sauna. Extremely handy for Lincoln Centre and NYPL. And right on Central Park. Also appreciated that the subway station nearby was accessible, so great for luggage moving. Might have been an off evening for someone but check-in was not particularly friendly or welcoming. But I was delighted overall. "

"Staff were great! Rooms and shared places were clean. Definitely would recommend. A few things I learned...they provide a towel but i wish i had packed a wash rag. The room pictures are accurate, but i still found them smaller than i had anticipated. And there isnt an elevator so make sure your bag is light enough to carry up a few flights!"
