"We have visited The Lakeside Hotel a few times now - last year we did the murder mystery event which was good and great value for money with evening meal, overnight stay and breakfast included so I would recommend. Most recent stay 22nd Feb 2 nights as a family and our friends family from Sweden - overall great hotel and the kids loved it. The only down side I would say is some (not all) of the restaurant/bar staff are laxidazy when it came to taking orders a few of our orders for breakfast...

"We had a lovely stay at the Whitewater hotel. All the staff were very friendly. We stayed for 1 night with our 3 month old baby and was given a really spacious room on the ground floor with a travel cot. We did stay for dinner at the hotel. The starter was a bit disappointing and when the waiter asked why we hadn't finished it he took it off the bill. The lamb and the steak was lovely. Breakfast was also nice. The hotel is very outdated but if you can see past that it's in a lovely location and...

"What a wonderful find. A great place to stay with lovely hosts. The house itself is one of the oldest in Ulverston with parts dating back to Jacobean times. The house is tastefully decorated and the room we stayed in was very comfortable with a great bathroom. Everything was clean and we had a lovely breakfast. Well definitely return. "

"Great location with large rooms and fast WiFi if needed. If staying in a lower floor room there may be music from below. Apart from that a very nice stay. "

"What can i say, everything was perfect. Upon entering the building using the very clear instructions and getting our key, to entering the room. Room 2 Coniston. It was absolutely spotless, very spacious with a nice homely feel to it. Kitchen area was really good, all the appliances and accessories we needed. Very comfy & large bed. Dog friendly room with a dog bed, bowl, treats and towel. Booked again for November Perfect location, you really are at the centre of the town. "

"Lovely property. Very nice rooms and spa was good. Food excellent but due to being very busy there was quite a wait for food and drinks: 30 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices were excellent. "
